Drug Free Montgomery County Coalition

The Drug Free Montgomery County Coalition is a program of the Montgomery County Youth Service Bureau.  DFMC is the local coordinating council that addresses substance use issues in Montgomery County.  DFMC also administers the LCC mini-grant process, which provides funding for organizations that are working to reduce the substance abuse problem in Montgomery County.  The Coalition brings together community partners to ensure that we are maximizing resources to best meet the needs in our community.

About Us

Drug Free Montgomery County is a diverse, committed non-profit organization representing every sector of our community. This group helps guide the LCC toward achieving significant outcomes related to substance abuse prevention, intervention and enforcement.

Coalition members are led by the Leadership Team and meet on the third Thursday of the second month to help steer the LCC toward building successful partnerships throughout the community.

Our Mission

The mission of the Drug Free Montgomery County Coalition is to serve as a vehicle for bringing together a cross-section of the community in a countywide effort to address alcohol, tobacco, and other drug (ATOD) issues using multiple strategies across multiple sectors.

Community Plan

The Drug Free Montgomery County Coalition is currently working as the local LCC with administrative services contracted through the Montgomery County Youth Service Bureau. This is to ensure that the mission of drug prevention will remain strong in the Montgomery County community. The current CCP reflects this transition to heighten focus on the most salient problems in the community as well as how to engage more community representatives in addressing the issues.
